Connect your scanner
To be able to connect a USB scanner, you need to have a Star mC-Print3 receipt printer. The USB scanner plugs into one of the two USB ports marked 0.5A that are on the receipt printer. Once you've connected your scanner, at checkout, go to My Store → Printers → Click on your receipt printer and make sure I'm using a handheld scanner connected to the printer is turned on.
Compatible Scanners
We only guarantee full compatibility with the barcode scanner we sell ourselves: Opticon L-46XUSB.
Other USB-connected barcode scanners may work, but we do not offer support or troubleshooting for scanners that are not purchased through us.
Reprogram Scan Mode
Your barcode scanner can be used in different scan modes depending on how you want the scans to work. You can easily switch modes by scanning any of the configuration barcodes below.
Trigger Single (Standard Mode)
In this mode, you need to press the shutter button on the scanner to read a barcode. The scanner then reads one barcode at a time.
Always On
The scanner is always active and automatically tries to read all barcodes that pass in front of it – without you having to press anything.
Stand Mode
The scanner automatically scans when placed in a tripod. It is activated when a barcode is moved in front of the reader, without you having to press the button.
