Do you want to offer Klarna as a payment method in your physical store? Here we go through what it takes to get started with Klarna In-Store.


Conditions

Before you can start accepting payments with Klarna in stores, you need to have an active Klarna account with an In-Store solution. If you do not have this agreement with Klarna, you need to contact them first.


Activate Klarna

To get started with Klarna, you need to add Klarna as a payment method. Go to Backstage → Payments → Payment methods → Add payment method → select Klarna.

You will now need to retrieve the Username and Password from your Klarna account. Log in to Klarna and go to Settings → Klarna API keys.

Once this is done, the integration is active and you can start accepting payments with Klarna in-store.


Charge

When you select Klarna as your payment method at checkout, you can:

  • Display a QR code that the customer scans, or

  • Send a payment link via SMS

The customer then completes the purchase on their own via Klarna.
