Notification of cash register
By law, you must report your cash register and control unit to the Swedish Tax Agency. If you have several checkouts, you must report each one as they have unique production numbers. Notification must be made no later than 2 weeks after the first sale.
Controller (Kontrollenhet)
Once you have registered the cash register and control unit, you will receive a confirmation within two weeks. A registration certificate can take up to six weeks from the time the notification is made. You will also receive signs that state an identification number for the cash register and the control unit. If you have not received the plates, you need to contact the Swedish Tax Agency.
Get information
When registering the cash register and control unit, you need information about the cash register. All the information you need can easily be emailed to yourself directly from your POS. Note that the production number is only displayed after at least one sale has been made at the checkout.
Go to My Store → About → Cash Register → Fill in your Email Address → Send
You will now receive an email with the information needed for registration with the Swedish Tax Agency.
Fill in information
Go to Skatteverkets hemsida and select Report, change, report faults and deregister cash registers to log in
Select the company you want to register Cash Register for
Start by registering the control unit, press Register new control unit
Retrieve the details from the email you sent from the checkout and fill in the details and press Next when you are done
Check that all the information is correct. When you get to Receipt, select Report cash register unit to this control unit in the bottom left. Fill in the information
When you get to Receipt, if you have several cash registers, select Report multiple cash registers to this control unit
Now you're done!
